During the production or processing of previously harmless materials, respirable fibres or particles that are harmful to health may nevertheless be produced. In order to assess this potential hazard to employees, it is necessary to know the properties of the materials at each production stage. The high-resolution scanning electron microscopes give us the possibility to determine morphological composition as well as particle size or diameter distributions of the fibres in a material. This is possible with a detection limit of 0,1 – 0,2 µm object size.

The evaluation and preparation is based on individual tasks and the nature of the materials examined.
